Ondi Timoner

Ondi Timoner makes films the long way. DIG! took seven years and 2,000 hours of tape to follow two bands down opposite roads; We Live in Public spent a decade watching an internet pioneer volunteer himself as the experiment.

Both won the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance — she remains the only director to take the documentary prize twice — and both now read as early field reports from the world we currently live in.

The festival presented Timoner the Golden Key for Documentary Filmmaking, with a career conversation anchored in the Critics' Focus program.
