Synopsis
Nicknamed “The Lionheart,” legendary two-time Indy 500 champion Dan Wheldon met his death at the Las Vegas Speedway in 2011, amid the biggest crash in IndyCar history. A decade later, Wheldon’s two sons—Sebastian and Oliver—follow in their heroic father’s footsteps and get behind the wheel, as they, too, aspire to become racing champions.
Through an unusual combination of archival footage and verité storytelling, the film weaves two distinct narratives—past and present—to explore larger themes relating to risk-taking, grief, parental responsibility, and the draw of family lineage.
