Synopsis
Space is the place in this new documentary, not to be confused with John Carpenter’s 1984 romance starring Jeff Bridges, introduces us to Gentry Lee – the titular “starman,” who was the control room architect of NASA’s Viking Project (the “mission to Mars”), and the author of such intergalactic best-sellers as “The Garden of Rama” and “Double Full Moon Night.” Director Robert Stone follows his 2019 PBS series “Chasing the Moon” with this stardusted evocation of cosmic wonder and the possibility of intelligent life on other planets, guided by the ultimate “space” man.
