A limited number of tickets are now on sale through our website for advance purchase to all films except opening and closing nights’ THE IRISHMAN and WAVES and the Spotlight films MARRIAGE STORY and JUST MERCY.
The best way to guarantee admission to ALL the above films, as well as to special events and festival parties, is to purchase a VIP PREMIUM or ALL-ACCESS pass. The 3rd level AUTEUR pass grants access to all films, except those in the Tropic’s Carper theater after 5 PM (but no parties).
Lulu Wang, Miami-born director of The Farewell, to join for Skype Q&A following Friday, 11/22 10:30 AM screening of her breakout film!
Playing as part of our Kibbitz With Critics series where audiences are treated to coffee and bagels prior to a film being intro’d by a critic, Florida native Lulu Wang will Skype in for a Q&A with Jen Yamato of the LA Times. You might have missed The Farewell earlier this year when it was released, so don’t pass up this incredible chance to grab virtual breakfast with this rising director!
Free outdoor screenings at Lagerheads to bookend the festival!
We are excited to announce two free screenings under the stars by the water’s edge at Lagerheads Key West Beach Bar (0 Simonton Street):
Tues., 11/19 at 7pm: CRAWL – Get a jump(scare) on the action the night before the festival begins, when we screen the good ol’ fashioned Florida fright-flick Crawl . One of last summer’s hottest thrillers, a daughter, father and their dog are hunted by alligators after becoming trapped in their Coral Lakes home during a Category 5 hurricane. And yes, we WILL have seats available in the water itself… if you DARE! (it’s like Jaws , but with gators…) Sun, 11/24 at 7pm: BUENA VISTA SOCIAL CLUB – Continuing our annual tradition of closing the festival with a free concert film, this year we mark the 20th Anniversary of BVSC’s release. Fall in love all over again with Compay, Rubén, Omara, Ibrahim, Eliades and the all-star gang Ry Cooder brought out of retirement in Wim Wender’s now classic homage to and revival of Cuban music.
Admission is free! VIP and All-Access Pass holders will be granted happy hour prices on all drinks at these events.
