Heaven is a place onscreen in “Eternity,” a novel rom-com that asks not the question “is there life after love,” but is there love after life? As Elizabeth Olsen’s Joan discovers, the answer is yes. But which love? In this ethereal love triangle, the newly deceased must choose between her likewise freshly 86’d mate of 65 years, Larry (Miles Teller), or her long-dead first husband Luke (Callum Turner), her passionate first love, a pilot killed in the Korean War. She has one week to decide. Irish writer-director David Freyne’s crowdpleasing comedy, a Toronto International Film Festival favorite, knows that there’s always trouble in paradise.
