Synopsis
The fabled conductor (and composer) Leonard Bernstein became a cultural icon in the 1950s, a media pioneer whose television appearances not only brought classical music into millions of American homes, but built a platform for his social advocacy. Filmmaker Douglas Tirola (who most recently documented the crazed saga of National Lampoon) digs into a mountain of archival material to build “Bernstein’s Wall,” a glittering, complex portrait of a singular genius and great public artist.
