In 2015 we launched the Critics' Focus program, where two of the nation's top critics were invited to curate the first and last movies that festival-goers would see.

Since then, Kenneth Turan and Justin Chang of the Los Angeles Times, Ann Hornaday of the Washington Post, Eric Kohn of indiewire, Emily Yoshida of New York Magazine, David Fear of Rolling Stone, Joshua Rothkopf of Time Out New York and Amy Nicholson of MTV News have used their expertise to bring the Key West Film Festival audience some of the best and most celebrated films of the year. 

We are delighted to announce that Martin Scorsese’s critically acclaimed “The Irishman” (Netflix) will open the 8th annual KWFF and Trey Edward Shults “Waves” (A24) will close the festival.

K. Austin Collins of Vanity Fair and Jen Yamato of The Los Angeles Times selected these films and will appear for a pre-screening discussion of “The Irishman” on Wednesday, November 20 and will also moderate an audience Q&A with Orlando-based director Mr. Shults following the screening of his “Waves” on Saturday night, November 23.

PASSES AND TICKETING IN 2019:
A limited number of tickets are now on sale for advance purchase to all films except opening and closing nights' THE IRISHMAN and WAVES and the Spotlight films MARRIAGE STORY and JUST MERCY.

The best way to guarantee admission to ALL the above films, as well as to special events and festival parties, is to purchase a VIP PREMIUM or ALL-ACCESS pass. The 3rd level AUTEUR pass grants access to all films (but no parties) except those in the Tropic's Carper theater after 5 PM.

Remember that time one of the world's biggest movie stars of all time came to Key West? We do.

Burt Reynolds, who still holds the record for number of consecutive years as the top grossing box office star with five (1978-1982), graced KWFF with his presence in 2016.
