FREE EVENT! Join Jennifer Johnson and Erin Lee Carr, recipients of the Golden Key Awards for Excellence in Costume Design and Documentary Filmmaking, respectively, as they chat about their recent and upcoming work. Moderated by Tomris Laffly of Variety and Alissa Wilkinson of Vox.com.
Jennifer Johnson’s most recent artistry can currently be seen in Andrew Dominik’s Blonde (Netflix) starring Ana de Armas as Marilyn Monroe. she received the 2018 Costume Designers Guild Award for Excellence in Contemporary Film for her work on I, Tonya (KWFF, 2017), for which she also was nominated for a BAFTA Award. Among her additional feature film credits are Miranda July’s Kajillionaire, Mike Mills’ 20th Century Women (KWFF, 2016) and Beginners as well as David Slade’s Hard Candy.
Erin Lee Carr is a two-time Emmy nominated producer, director, executive producer, and writer. Her work is known for exploring criminal justice, femininity, and virality. Most recently, she directed the two part docuseries for HBO Undercurrent: The Disappearance of Kim Wall. In 2021, she directed Britney Vs Spears, which premiered on Netflix in September, 2021 and was the #1 most- watched film on the platform in 25 countries. Her break-out film was Mommy Dead And Dearest, which premiered at the SXSW and Hot Docs Film Festival in 2017. Currently, Erin is working with HBO on a forthcoming docuseries and documentary feature.
