The 2018 Key West Film Festival included a diverse, entertaining and artistically rigorous selection of films represented through a broad array of categories offering opportunities for filmmakers, both aspiring and established, to commune and exchange ideas with each other while showing their work to audiences in an historic and artistically vibrant tropical paradise.

On the occasion of the release of her new book, The Female Gaze , which highlights 30 films directed by women, Alicia Malone will be hosting a screening of Cleo 5 to 7 featuring a discussion with fellow critic Monica Castillo.

KWFF will host a special a screening of The Laramie Project, on the 20th Anniversary of the murder of Matthew Shepard. The screening will feature a Q&A with its writer, Stephen Belber. Belber is the director of Match (KWFF 2014) and wrote the screenplay for Richard Linklater’s Tape.

Miami’s Popcorn Frights’ Igor Shteyrenberg hosts a screening of their Audience Award-winning film ANNA AND THE APOCALYPSE at KWFF!
A zombie apocalypse threatens the sleepy town of Little Haven – at Christmas – forcing Anna and her friends to fight, slash and sing their way to survival, facing the undead in a desperate race to reach their loved ones. But they soon discover that no one is safe in this new world!

CONCERT FILM
As per tradition, the festival closes with a free screening of a classic concert film. This year, the title is a secret, but it features Janis Joplin, Jerry Garcia, The Band and more! Preceded by local Key West filmmaker Paul Menta’s “And Nowhere Else.”
Drinks provided by Key West Legal Rum. Proceeds of sales will go to hurricane relief efforts.
